Storyline Teaser for "The Love Doctors"

Doctors Ballantine (Ann Jannin) and Grady (Frank Mahalan) conduct the Human

Heterosexual Experience Laboratory, located on the campus of a respected metropolitan college. Here volunteers, who identities are never revealed to each other, participate in scientific sexual experiments recorded by the doctors via instruments and cameras.

Among the volunteers are Eileen Hanson (Ann Acres), a young widow, and Cliff Short (Winston St. lie), whose wife is an invalid; Jayne (Lima Jaynes) and Ernie Blount (Ernie Palmer), a young attorney and his bride, who are having difficulty consummating their marriage because of Jayne's apparent frigidity; and Jan (Anabelle Pope), who is living with Bill (Lawrence Adams), an older man who loves her but neglects her sexually and makes her feel inadequate.

Eileen and Cliff are greatly affected by their experience together. The doctors prescribe a program of counseling for Ernie and Jayne. Jan, for her part, is introduced to MACS, a machine who initials stand for Male Artificial Coitor-Simulator, which is designed to record feminine responses.

Bill boasts to Jan of his numerous conquests and blames her naïve-ness and inexperience for his seeking satisfaction elsewhere. But Dr. Ballantine, on the basis of Jan's session with MACS, assures her that her response is normal.

Eileen and Cliff continue their sessions, more than ever attracted to each other. Eventually, they meet outside the laboratory by accident when Cliff visits his dentist and finds that Eileen is the new hygienist. When Cliff tries to date her, she resists when he confesses he is married. She permits him to believe she, too, is married.

Jayne and Bill go through a number of counseling sessions, but appear no nearer to solving their problem.

In the meantime, a middle-aged male, all too eager to become a participant, attempts to volunteer. Dr. Ballantine recognizes him as Hopkins (Joseph Berger), a member of the college's Board of Regents. Hopkins insists he get carte blanche to investigate the lab's research, but Dr. Ballantine refuses and Hopkins threatens to take his case to the president of the college and to close down the laboratory.

When Bill comes home late one night, Jan hatches a plot to get back at him. She tells him about the laboratory and of her date with MACS. Bill follows her to the college the next morning and is astounded when he sees the machine.

Ciff learns that Eileen is a widow and when Eileen tells him there can be no future for them and that she won't be going back to the lab, Cliff finally asks his wife, Georgia (Roberta Reeves), for a divorce. Fearful of losing Cliff, Georgia shoots and kills him . . .
